Ryan is a consistent member of CrossFit Eminence, and he has been joining CrossFit classes 4-5 days a week! With his exercise routine in place, it was time to start dialing in his nutrition. Nutrition for many, means concentrating on what kind of foods to eat. But most of us have a general idea of what is healthy for us – veggies, fruits, lean meats. But understanding how to fuel your body, also means learning what a balanced plate should look like. In other words, how much of each macronutrient should you be putting on your plate?
Ryan started our 12-week program and at first took a little bit to figure things out. Specifically, he learned how to eat nutrient dense foods in order to manage volume. In addition, he had some weekend events he needed to navigate through during the first few weeks. But everything started to click as he dialed it in around Week 5, and overall, ended up losing 13 pounds. He even gained lean muscle mass! Congratulations, Ryan – great job!!
How to fuel your body
Didn’t really realize what I was getting into starting this nutrition program. I had never really counted macros in my life, so it was a whole new experience. My goal from the get go, was to understand what a more balanced plate and day looks like. Chad helped guide me every step of the way and had many questions. I transitioned from eating what I thought was a decent plate, to what I actually needed each meal.
Losing body fat while gaining muscle
It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it! Not only did I lose 13 pounds, but I lost 5% body fat while slightly growing my muscle mass! I feel healthier and more energized (even during the fat loss phase) than ever before! Couldn’t be happier with the results of this program, the support I got from the CrossFit Eminence coaches, and to have a healthy go to meal plan moving forward. Thanks Chad & CFE!
