I have been an athlete most of my life. From early elementary school through high school I was a competitive gymnast. I was a division 2 diver throughout college. I started CrossFit in 2014 because of a good-looking girl I was interested in who is now my lovely wife. I have owned several businesses and done a handful of other adventures in life.
My CrossFit turning point was when I saw a couple of the guys snatching more than I could squat. I was thinking a certain weight was a good squat (and I now know it was a great weight for me at that time) then here comes Ed snatching 25 lbs more. I saw the possibilities there and really dug into weightlifting. I have now become that guy which I love because it motivates other people to be stronger and do more.
My motivation comes from long-term wellness. I love that CrossFit is sustainable and simple. I enjoy helping others lead a healthy lifestyle and contribute to them waking up early in the morning to come sweat and lift, long before the sun comes up. My motivation actually comes from my attempt to motivate others. I have always had a passion and gift for coaching. I have coached gymnastics, diving, and CrossFit collectively for over a decade. I have been an athlete and always remember that viewpoint while coaching. Coaching is my passion, and I think it always will be.
